Carol Parker
Executive Director

Carol Parker currently serves as the Executive Director of the Great Lakes Health Information Exchange (GLHIE), Executive Director of Graduate Medical Education, Inc. (GMEI) and Director of Continuing Medical Education for the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University. GLHIE is a sub-state health information exchange serving communities throughout Michigan. GLHIE was founded to provide secure, digital exchange and access to patient health information to enhance health care quality and patient safety for community members and to increase efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the health care system. GMEI is an educational consortium and partnership of excellence between the Lansing hospitals (Ingham Regional Medical Center and Sparrow Health System) and Michigan State University (the Colleges of Human and Osteopathic Medicine). GMEI’s mission is to support our partner institutions in their efforts to provide excellent medical education in the Mid-Michigan Region through diverse, quality educational experiences in a collaborative environment.

Currently, Carol is the President of the Board of Trustees for the Michigan Health Council and a member of the Center for Health Professions Advisory Council. Formerly, Carol has worked to increase training opportunities for health professionals in medically underserved communities, was responsible for policy and advocacy on behalf of Michigan’s Federally Qualified Health Centers, provided the initial program development for transitioning small and rural hospitals into Critical Access Hospital status, supported community mental health centers as they converted to authority status, and assisted Health Maintenance Organizations in their efforts to contract with the State of Michigan to care for Medicaid populations, develop Medicare managed care plans, and pursue national accreditation.

Carol holds a master’s degree in public health from the University of Michigan and is working on a Ph.D. in Epidemiology at Michigan State University.

Mike Ayers
Physician Outreach Specialist

Mike Ayers is a Physician Outreach Specialist at Great Lakes Health Information Exchange (GLHIE).   Mike has nearly 20 years of experience selling in a wide variety of avenues.  He has served independent retailers in Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee and health care providers in many Michigan communities.  For the previous ten years he worked in the pharmaceutical arena earing several national awards for sales performance for Bayer, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Mission Phramacal, Endo Pharmaceuticals and Astra Zeneca. Recently Mike completed the 200-hour Implementation Support Specialist federal course at LCC.  Mike also has a BS in Liberal Arts from Central Michigan University.

Bryan Bulock
Physician Outreach Specialist

Bryan Bulock is a Physician Outreach Specialist at Great Lakes Health Information Exchange (GLHIE).  He is a sales and marketing professional with nearly 20 years selling experience in various arenas including; medical devices, pharmaceuticals, engineering and IT services. He began his career with a medical device company in Lansing, Michigan that produced surgical instruments for minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery and disposable products for the operating room.  Bryan has actively promoted products to a wide variety of medical specialists and healthcare professionals.  Bryan’s career has provided him the opportunity to work for both large corporate cultures, like Johnson & Johnson, as well as independent specialty companies with a broad range of adaptability and success.  He has been a field sales trainer and has achieved many milestones as a professional sales representative and team leader. Bryan holds a B.A. in Communication Arts from Michigan State University.

Darrell Dontje
Chief Information Security Officer and Chief Privacy Officer

Darrell Dontje is the Chief Information Security Officer and Chief Privacy Officer for the Great Lakes Health Information Exchange. He is currently the chairperson for the Axolotl Security User Group.  Dontje started his career with the State of Michigan in the Information Technology field. His background includes network engineering, IT Departmental Board member and Deputy Chief Information Security Officer for the State of Michigan.

Michael Dunigan
Systems Administrator

Michael Dunigan has been supporting IT systems for 20+ years. His career has spanned manufacturing and higher education, with projects in insurance and banking. He recently completed a 200-hour federal course in Health Information Technology Implementation Management at LCC and has passed the HITPro certification test for HIT Implementation Manager.

Penny Englerth
Physician Outreach Specialist

Penny Englerth has a bachelor’s degree from MSU with majors in business and English. Her career experience includes association management, staffing and human resources management, marketing, developing and delivering training, and writing. She has been with GLHIE since October of 2010 and has recently completed a 200-hour federal course in Health Information Technology Implementation Management.

Nancy Morelli
Executive Assistant

Nancy Morelli is the Executive Assistant at GLHIE. She has over 15 years experience as an Administrative Professional, serving as Executive Assistant at Liggett Broadcast, Inc., the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Lansing State Journal, and the City of Mason.

Deb Mosher
Senior Project Manager

Deb Mosher is GLHIE’s Senior Project Manager. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and has a Masters Certificate in IT Project Management from George Washington University. She has nearly 20 years experience managing information technology projects, the largest of which totaled $10 million. She has been recognized by the State of Michigan and the Social Security Administration for leadership and excellence in technology delivery. At GLHIE, her primary responsibilities include managing the Axolotl contract and working on data feeds and EMR interfaces.

Carolyn Snyder
Physician Outreach Specialist

Carolyn Snyder is currently a Physician Outreach Specialist at the Great Lakes Health Information Exchange. Prior to joining GLHIE she was office and then practices manager of the Center for Integrative Medicine of Okemos implementing new automation throughout the clinic. She has extensive experience in working as a liaison between users and technical staff in the course of policy development for the Department of Human Services until the time of her retirement from the state in 2002. She has a BA from MSU.

Louise White
Physician Outreach Specialist and System Administrator

Louise White is a Physician Outreach Specialist and System Administrator at GLHIE. She brings more than 25 years of implementation, training and system experience with the State of Michigan, Disability Determination Services (DDS), and federal government experience as a contractor with Lockheed Martin and the Social Security Administration. Louise’s previous experience includes participating in a six-month system development project to build, deliver and support a disability software system for the State of Michigan. As a contractor, she implemented and supported nine states, the District of Columbia and San Juan, Puerto Rico in a national system roll-out for disability claims processing by the Social Security Administration. Louise also participated in implementation and support for the North Carolina DDS in beta testing an electronic medical system for Social Security. Louise joined Great Lakes HIE in November 2009. She has just completed the Health I.T. Implementation Manager program at LCC sponsored by the Federal government to assist in her role with GLHIE.
